Martha "Lupe" Betanof

Martha “LUPE” Guadalupe Betanof, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:40 PM. Age 56 years, a native of Somoto, Nicaragua and a resident of Marrero, LA for the past 37 years. Beloved wife of Nikola “Nick” Betanof. Loving mother of Nikolas Anthony Betanof (Jessica), and Michelle Natasha Betanof. Grandmother of Joshua Michael Betanof. Daughter of Enrique Garay, and the late Ana Jacoba Moreira. Sister of Alberto Garay (Irma), Adela Wood (Cliff), Enrique Garay, Sujey Garay (Javier), Mariela Garay (Carlos), Marta Garay, Johana Garay, Hilda Sosa, and Marlon Garay. Daughter in law of the late Harikliya Betanof, Antoine Betanof and Gladys Anderson. Lupe was the Nutrition Manager at Greenpark Elementary School, Metairie, LA. She was a member of the Nicholson Golden Age Club, The Red Hat Society, and was an avid Pokeno Player.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd, Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 9:00 AM until 10:50 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, La Hwy 1, Raceland, LA. In lieu of flowers, Masses can be offered in loving memory of Lupe at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church or contributions can be made to Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement Association at www.cgtlea.org/donate.
