Mary “Evelyn” Stephens Racker passed away at her residence on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the age of 77. She was the beloved wife of the late Merritt Eugene Racker, the loving mother of Susan Gray (Dennis Pearson), Barbara Racker (Richard Grilley) and David Racker and the devoted grandmother of David Andrew Racker and Mrinmoyee “Mini” Racker. She was the daughter of the late Robert Stephens and Gladys Mears Stephens as well as the sister of Elizabeth Carls (August), Marjorie Kemp (Jack) and the late Louise Brown (Paul). She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Evelyn loved to read and spend time in her garden. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 beginning at 9:00 AM and lasting until 11:00 AM at which time a Graveside Service will be held at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, LA.
