Merrilyn Ann Cobert

Merrilyn Ann Cobert entered peacefully into heaven on December 31, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Clarence J. Cobert of 50 years. A loving mother of Merri Claire Cobert (the late Brian), Merri Lynn Cobert Duet (Danny), Clarence “C.J.”(Kimberly), Kim Cobert Pertuit (Dino), Reed Cobert (Dawn), and Taylor Perez. A proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and great grandmother of one. Daughter of the late Marion Pizani and Lloyd Christen. Sister of Dorie Perez, Linda Christen, Willie Hatty, and the late Lloyd “Jay” Christen. She is also survived by her cats “Fluffy”, Bear Bear, Calico, numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Age 71, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Barataria and Marrero, LA. “Mel Mel and the Grocery Lady” enjoyed fishing, bingo, cooking, gardening, loved to be around people and mostly spending time with her family and friends. She would go the Piggly Wiggly in Lafitte and spend hours just for a loaf of bread. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Exp., Marrero, LA on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 am.
