Michael "Mike" Roy Rivet

Michael "Mike" Roy Rivet passed away at his home in Jean Lafitte, Louisiana on March 24, 2022 at the age of 71. He was born on December 15, 1950 in Alexandria, Louisiana to the late Nicholas and Cordelia Rivet. Loving father of Brady Rivet (Brittani). Proud grandfather of Brady Rivet, Jr., Charlie Rivet, Josie Rivet and Emery Rivet. Brother of Nikki VanDerGrinten (Dirk), Philip Rivet (Linda) and Arlene Brouillette. Mike is also survived by his faithful companion, Obdulia "Luly" Cortes; nephew, Eric VanDerGrinten and many cousins, extended family and friends.

Mike was a long-time employee of Chevron Oronite. He loved living in Lafitte. If you couldn't find him home, he would be at his camp where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed traveling to his hometown of Marksville, Louisiana to visit friends. Mike was loved and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Friday, April 8, 2022 beginning at 10:00 am until 12:00 pm and the funeral service at 12:00 pm at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero. Burial will be at a later date.
