Minh Huong Thi Chu

Minh Chu passed away on Sunday July 3rd, 2022 at the age of 73. She was a trailblazer owning her own business when she was just 16 years old. She was a hard worker and was always ambitious, with a very generous and empathetic heart. Minh had traveled the world, but her passion was the sea. She was an avid diver. Her most recent trip was to the Caribbean, right before the pandemic. Minh lived life to the fullest, and considered every day a blessing.

Minh's second passion was gardening. She will be missed by her friends at Our Lady of La Vang Church in New Orleans where she planted and maintained the church's gardens for over two decades. She also planted flowers on the grounds of the Veteran's Memorial at Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale, Louisiana.

Although she was never married or had children of her own, she was a mother to all eight of her siblings: Tuynh Chu, Huyen Chu, Hoan Portin, Tan Chu, Hoang Gray, Thien Chu, Ha Nguyen and Tuyen Chu, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was the daughter of the late Bao Doan Chu and Tao Van Chu.

Please join us in a celebration of Minh Chu's life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Our Lady of La Vang Church at 6054 Vermillion Boulevard in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday, July 9th, 2022. Visitation will begin at 9:00am until 10:00am. The Mass will begin at 10:00am. Interment will follow the Mass at Restlawn Park Cemetery, 3540 US-90 in Avondale, Louisiana.
