Nelma Chauvin Richard, of Marrero, LA departed this life on October 24, 2012 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of Carroll J. Richard, daughter of the late Lillian & Edgar Chauvin. Mother of JoAnn Wellmeyer (late husband Sonny), Allen Richard, Sr. (wife Cynthia), Toni Foret (husband Duane). Sister of Edgar Chauvin (the late Mamie Jo) of Forrest City, AR, the late Merlin Chauvin, Sr., Joyce Ehrhard (the late Louis “Jr”), June Chauvin Solar, Stephen Chauvin & Sherry Beasley (husband Don) of St. Louis, MO. Grandmother of Kristin Wellmeyer- Bohlmann (husband Travis), Allen Richard, Jr., Angelle Richard-Rosata, Louis Richard, Shelley Cantrelle-Miller (husband Myaro), & Karen Guillot. Great-Grandmother of Carly & Kyle Bohlmann , Riley & Lane Richard, Emily & Abigail Rosata, Johnathan & Hailee Richard, Marcella & Myaro Miller, and Keegan Guillot. She was an active member in Immaculate Conception Church, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 7307, Bridge City Golden Agers, and a former member of Theta Golden Agers. She retired from Brundage Properties (A-AAA Key Mini Storage) and enjoyed her retirement with her husband, her dog Mitzi, and her family. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and her joyful smile.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 12:00 PM at Westside Leitz-Eagan, 5101 W. B. Expressway, Marrero. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment following services at Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
