

Nicholas Eric May, age 35, of the Westbank of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, went to meet the Lord on Saturday, January 1st, 2022. Nicholas was born January 14, 1986 to Keith and Katherine Bettencourt May. Devoted father of Nicholas and Giovanni May and Christopher Bordelon and also survived by their mother, Bernadette May. Brother of Amber May Gunn (Brad), Jeffrey May (Victoria), Brian May (Katie), and Alex May. Uncle of Zoe, Alex Jr., Emily, Oliver, Elizabeth, and Aria. Grandson of Barbara May and Illena May. Nephew of Charles and Patty Bettencourt, Sr., Ruthie and Joe Bonds, Dan Bettencourt, Larry and Georgette May, and Jerry and Laura May.
Nicholas is survived by his cousins who were more like brothers, Chucky Bettencourt and Trevor Basinger. Nicholas is also survived by other relatives and many friends who are left to cherish his memory.
Nicholas is preceded in death by his grandparents Captain John P. May and Charles and Myrna Bettencourt, and his aunt Patricia Basinger.
Nicholas was a proud Marine who served his country who started his military career in high school and continued into his deployment to Iraq. He served proudly throughout Operation Iraqi Freedom. Previously employed with New Orleans Ironworks, Continental Construction, and Dynamic Fuel, Nicholas enjoyed using his hands and his welding skills to create art using iron and other metals. Nick loved kids, he enjoyed spending his time with his sons, and his nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 1:00PM until 4:00PM at Melott Multipurpose Center, 2301 Belle Chasse Highway, Gretna.
