Roland John Bourgeois, Sr. passed away on November 24, 2025 at the age of 85. He was born in New Orleans to the late William and Josephine Bourgeois. Loving father of Melissa (the late Mark) and the late Roland, Jr. Proud grandfather of Jessica, Mikhail, Jeremy and Alexandra and great-grandfather of William and Lilia. Brother of the late William, Oliver and Wayne. Roland is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Roland will be remembered as a faithful, loyal, and resilient individual. He was a master carpenter whose hard-working nature and generous spirit touched the lives of many. Roland was known for his dedication to his craft and community and had a deep love for animal but most of all, he loved his family
His legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Roland on Monday, December 1, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 PM and immediately followed by the interment at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna.
