Samson Charles Gros Jr.

Samson Charles Gros, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on July 15, 2021 at the age of 93. He was married to his loving wife, the late Bernice Gros for 67 years. The father of Sammy Gros (Mona), Kathy Savoie (Basil), Robert Gros (Denise). Grandfather of Brandi Rigaud (Steve), Collin Gros (Lindsey), Lindsey Brooks (Dan). Brother of Ray Gros. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Samson Charles Gros, Sr. and Aline Tassin Gros.

Sam was a lifelong resident of Westwego. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served in the Korean Conflict. He was a jack of all trades but particularly loved gardening and woodworking. He was an amazing finish carpenter and had a natural green thumb. Sam loved to grow vegetables and share the harvest with his close friends and family. He was also known for preparing the perfect cup of coffee. One of the joys of his life was his loving pet dog, Molly.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, located at 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA 70072.
