Santo “Sonny” Chris DiPascal reached the Heavenly Gates of our Lord comfortably in his sleep on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the age of 88. Sonny was the beloved husband of his High School sweet-heart Emma Lois Lerille for 68 years until her death. He was the loving father of Emma Lee Ann Rome (Barry) and Amy Marie Liberta (Jeffrey). He was the proud Grandfather of Barry M. Rome, Jr. (Meagan) and overjoyed by his great grandchildren Delilah Emma, Nolan Drew and Sydney Grace Rome. Leaving behind his handsome cat Phatt Boi. He is survived by his youngest sister Antoniette “Nettie” DiPascal Blanchette, whose husband Steve is deceased, and Salvador “Sal” J. Gaspar, Jr., countless cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends. Santo was the eldest son of the late Dominick and Lena Vicari DiPascal. Son-in-law of the late Gaston and Madonna Gisclair Lerille. Brother of the late Michael, Guy, Rosalie Gaspar and Anthony “Peter” DiPascal (Judy Rotolo).
Santo was born on December 22, 1935, in Harvey, LA. He was a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. As a teenager Sonny learned his trade as a master craftsman from his dad and would eventually take over the family business, DiPascal Cabinet Company working with his siblings. In 1989 he established Santo’s Cabinets and Custom Millwork. Leaving an indelible mark of his talent in homes, business and churches in and around the New Orleans area. A former member of the Westside Socialites and the 49ers. Once retired Sonny and Emma were free to pack up the Suburban for wherever the open road would lead whenever their hearts desired. Devoted to his family and friends. Sonny was the patriarch of our family. Without a doubt Santo will be missed by all who know him.
