Shirley "Moonie" Woods passed away on April 20, 2022 at the age of 71. She was born on December 29, 1950 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Joseph and Alma Woods. Sister of Elven Woods (the late Marie), Cheryl Glass (Julius "Cat"), JoAnn Martina and the late Dorothy Marshall (the late Joseph), Mary Woods and Carol Waguespack (the late Alfred). Moonie was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Moonie was a long-time resident of Avondale. She was an avid Elvis fan and loved listening to classic country music and spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. She loved everyone and never met a stranger. Moonie was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, May 6, 2022 beginning at 9:00AM until 11:00AM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Garden of Memorial Cemetery in Metairie.
