Sylvia Dufrene Carter passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at the age of 72. Beloved wife of the late Audery “Butch” Carter. Mother of Jeffery Carter, Andrew Carter (Patricia), and Andrea Carter Ditcharo (Milton). Sister of Eric Dufrene (Merita), Bernadette Falcon, Carl Dufrene (Kim), and Carmelita Bourgeois. Grandmother of Brittany Adam (Garrett), Devan Adam, Katelyn Carter, and Brendan Carter. Great grandmother of Tony Brewer, Todd Brewer, and Cambri Heart Lee Brewer. Sister-in-law of Judith Serpas and Sally Hunn-Stephens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Eugenia Dufrene. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family would like to thank Nettla Camardelle for her decades of friendship and her care for Sylvia in recent months, as well as Heart of Hospice for their excellent care.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 7:00 PM.
