Thelma LeGrand

Thelma LeGrand passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 17, 2015. She was 75 years old. Beloved wife of the late Carlos E. Turcios, and companion for over 17 years to David Acosta. Loving mother of Carlos Turcios (Livia), Ana Pichs (Leonel), and T. Veronica Schieffler (Lee). Grandmother of Leonel Pichs III, Monica Turcios, Carlos Turcios Jr., Leland Schieffler, and Alex Schieffler. Great-Grandmother of Isabella Pichs and Leonel Pichs IV. Sister of Zoila Villagran, Marina de Leon, Helen Sandoval, and Valentina Torres. Daughter of the late Celia LeGrand and Carlos Reyes. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, and has resided in the New Orleans area for over 48 years. Thelma was always very active, constantly on the go and finding new destinations to travel. She will be dearly missed by all. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass from Westside LEITZ-EAGAN, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Saturday evening, January 24, 2015 at 5:30.
