Verna Ann Dufrene Ditcharo

Verna Ann Dufrene Ditcharo entered peacefully into heaven on Sunday, November 6, 2016 with her loving family at her side. She is survived by her devoted husband, Dominick Paul Ditcharo, Jr., of 49 years. Loving mother of Joanne Freeman Hebert (Gary), Niki Marie Ditcharo, Dominick Daniel Ditcharo (Angie Chauvin) and the late Benny “Bud” Frank Freeman. A proud grandmother of Stacy Elizabeth Hebert, Joseph “Joey” Paul Danos, Jr.(Crystal), Gavin Michael Gaudry, Gage Nicholas Guidry, Dane Thomas Pertuit, Lani Nicole Ditcharo, Thomas Brown, Denny “D. J.” Thomas Rapp, Dom Anderson Ditcharo, Kayla Nicole Vinet, Madelyn Michelle Ditcharo, Brianna Nicole Trahan and a great grandmother of Landon Paul Danos, London Christine Danos, Ari Victoria Brown, Ryleigh Olivia Ditcharo, and Auden Rose Brown.

Daughter of the late Cornelia Touchard Dufrene and Felix Francois Dufrene, Sr. and sister of Felix “Brother” Francois Dufrene, Jr. and Daniel “Danny Boy” Dufrene. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Age 74, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Lafitte, Louisiana.

Verna worked as a Nurse Assistant for 4 years at West Jefferson Medical Center. She enjoyed traveling, seeing the world, casino trips, reading to her grandchildren, and mostly spending time with her family and friends. She would have nightly visits to Coffee& or Joe’s Café for donuts, coffee and fellowship with friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy., Marrero, LA on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 11:00 AM.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until Mass time. Interment following in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
