Wanda Ruttley Blair

Wanda Ruttley Blair was born on November 25 in 1950 and left us to be with our lord Jesus on February 22, 2026. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Tom Blair, her sister Patsy Ruttley Crepell and her brother Leon "Mitch" Ruttley as well as her wonderful mother, Fern "Grammy" Heard Ruttley Nolan, and her father Leon "TuTu" Ruttley. She is survived by her son Tommy Blair ,his wife Elizabeth Blair, and their daughter Annabelle Blair. Mrs. Wanda Blair was Annabelle's cherished "Nanna." She is also survived by her sisters Ginny Ruttley and Tiffany Ruttley Fisher as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

She was well loved by the entire communities of Jean Lafitte and Barataria. Her Masters Degree in Education allowed her to pursue her passion for education within her community. She taught at and then became the assistant principal of Leo Kerner Elementary School. Students and administrators at Leo Kerner sang her praises often. Her love of books and our lord Jesus Christ was unparalleled.

On Monday, March 2nd, 2026 at 9:00AM, the visitation will begin at Barataria Baptist Church, 2956 Jean Lafitte Highway, in Lafitte, Louisiana with a church service beginning at 12:00PM. Interment will commence after the church services at the Ruttley Family Cemetery in Barataria, Louisiana. After the interment services are complete, friends and family are welcome to rejoice in fellowship at the Barataria Baptist Church Annex.
