Welton P. Theriot Sr.

Welton was born March 14, 1925 in Raceland, La to Seraphin and Elda Theriot Sr. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Rita DeSalvo Theriot. He was the father of Welton, Jr. (Jane), Donald (Kathy), Todd (Melinda), Trent (Elva), and Randy (Pam). He was survived by his sister Rose Brady; his Grandchildren, Rene’, Brent, Chad, Curtis, Justin, Shawn, Troy, Amy, Jessica, Heather, Gregory, Jason, Christopher, and Brandon; and 23 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Lawrence, Gladys, Owia, Cora, Chester, Louis, Seraphin (ST)

Welton was a CYO Coach from 1952-1962. He was one of the PARD Founders. He was also a member and officer of the Marrero Lions Club. Welton was recently awarded the “Family Legacy Award” from Archbishop Shaw Alumni. He owned and operated Theriot Insurance Agency.

The family would like to thank their brother Trent and Ms. Charlotte Garrison, Laura and the rest of the Hospice Compassus Staff.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation and service on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer Masses to be said in his memory.
