William John Miller Jr.

William J. Miller Jr. passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the age of 72. He was the father of Laura Miller, Robert Mohon, and Dawn Pepper, as well as stepfather of Dianna Sandavol, Sherry Thompson, and the late Kathy Thompson. Grandfather of Brandy Circle, Kathleen Circle Plaisance, Rachel Circle, Phillip Doty, Adam Doty, Gabriele Freibert, Richie Freibert, Ethan Freibert, William Miller III, Daniel Miller, Percy Joseph Baham IV Miller, Elizabeth Pepper, Ashley Pepper, Brooke Pepper, and Brigitte Pepper, as well as great grandfather of 13. He was the son of the late Major William J. Miller Sr. (US Army, Retired) and Laura Ryan, as well as grandson of the late Catherine Cavaretta Brown. Brother of Catherine Miller Corcoran.

He was a graduate of Gulf Coast Military Academy and Belle Chasse High School, and served with Gretna Police Department and Jefferson Parish Sheriff Office. He also worked in private security, and as a welder. He was a jack of all trades. He was also active in the amateur radio community as N5VLJ, and the CB community as “Four Door”. His passions were fishing, hunting, and his family. He was generous and helpful to people throughout his lifetime.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 3:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
