William Leo “Bill” Stevens Jr., also known as “Wiggy,” passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the age of 76. Son of the late Lena and William L. Stevens Sr. Father of Christina Trosclair (Matthew) and William Stevens III. Brother of Joe Stevens (Annette), Anthony Stevens, Ralph Stevens, Lawrence Stevens, Mary Ash (the late Charles), Katie Gaubert (Gerald), and Ella Boudreaux (the late Sidney), as well as the late Antoinette Bergeron. Beloved companion of Faye Brown. He is also survived by three grandchildren, as well as great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A native of Westwego, he worked for many years as a pipe fitter for Avondale Shipyards. He enjoyed life, painting, and his beloved Saints. He was a man of simple pleasures, who was steadfast in his beliefs.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
