Bernice Garnick

Mrs. Bernice “Bunny” Garnick, 87, entered into rest on August 31, 2022. Bunny was born in Cortland, NY and graduated from Cortland College (now SUNY Cortland) with a BS in Early Education. She taught for one year and later worked in wholesale and retail jewelry sales and real estate. She enjoyed artistic pursuits such as painting and writing poetry.

Bunny was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Pauline Alpert, and her brother-in-law, Dr. Arnold Tein. Surviving family members include her husband of 65 years, Dr. Jerry Garnick; her children, Nettie (Bill) Albrecht, Murray (Teresa) Garnick, and Ilene (Dean) Goldman; grandchildren Zack (Lisa) Albrecht, Ben (Jessica) Albrecht, Alex Garnick, Ari Goldman, and Brett Goldman; great grandchildren Skylar and Oliver Albrecht. She is survived by her sister, Marlene Tein. The family is appreciative of the attentive care provided by Visiting Angels aide, Jacqueline Ochoa.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Magnolia Cemetery of Augusta, Georgia with Rabbi David Sirull officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations on her behalf be sent to Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, 935 Johns Rd, Augusta, GA 30904, or to a charity of your choice.
