

Mr. Milton was born and raised in Augusta, GA to Samuel and Hellen Milton. He served in the United States Navy. Some of Mr. Milton’s hobbies include yard work and he adored his grandchildren. He worked for many years at National Life Insurance as a sales agent. In his later years, he worked at Brandon Wilde as a security officer. Mr. Milton and his wife, Barbara are members of Martinez Baptist Church.
Mr. Milton is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Milton and Hellen (Peak) Milton; son, Charles “Chuck” Thurmond; and siblings, Nellie, Hayward, Benjamin, Vivian, Ola Mae, Jack, Calvin and Emily. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Milton; daughter, Linda Durham; son, Paul Timothy Milton (Sandi); grandchildren, Charles Thurmond Milton III (Jessica); Joey Milton (Aprid), Dylan Timothy Milton, Skye Bernard and Danielle Bernard; great-grandchildren, Claire Milton; nieces, Robin Lotz, Nicole Lots and Stacey Page; and nephews, Sammy Jones and Steve Jones.
Graveside services will be held at 11am at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Phillip A. Winsett officiating. Pallbearers who will honor Mr. Milton are Dylan T. Milton, Glenn Lundy, Kelley Lundy, Chris McDonald Matt Raborn, Kenny Raborn, Jimmy Raborn and Eric Nesbitt.
Mr. Milton lived an amazing life and people who knew him, took comfort in one of his famous sayings. Whenever he would see anyone in public and they would ask how he was doing, he would always respond with “I don’t mean any harm…”.
