

Ms. McRae was born in Sylvania, GA. She was a loving mother who would give the last of everything she had to ensure her children were taken care of. Ms. McRae was a faithful steward of God who dedicated her life serving Him. She was a member of True Vine Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. Ms. McRae was known for her sense of style, never leaving the house without one of her famous hats. Her family will always remember her cooking, especially Thanksgiving dinner. Ms. McRae was a deep thinker who had good intuitions. She never met a stranger, loved life and always spoke her mind.
Ms. McRae is survived by her children, Joel B. McRae, Bernard Edward McRae (Beatrice), Van Eric McRae (Nedra) and Neta Pennoi McRae; sister, Mary Elizabeth Booker; grandchildren, Joel McRae Jr., Lawrence Bacote, Jasmine Monique McRae, Bianca Caprice McRae, Nigel Alonzo Henderson, Carmen Camille McRae; best friends, Maude Thaxton and Caroll Dabney; and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and the many friends she met at Wesley Woods of Augusta/St. John Towers.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on February 22, 2025 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home.
