
Augusta - Mr. Frankie D. Myers, 75, of Martinez, GA, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at his residence. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 11am at First Baptist Church of Evans. Interment will be private. Born in Plymouth, NC, he was the son of the late Willie C. Myers and Hazel Glenrose Harrison Myers. He lived in New Jersey, Texas, Korea, and Taiwan before moving to Martinez in 1980. He retired from the Army after twenty five years of service, where he received a National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Army Commendation Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Expert Rifle, and Meritorious Service Medal. Frankie was a member of First Baptist Church of Evans where he served as a deacon, taught the Adult Sunday School Class, and was awarded Deacon Emeritus. He was an avid reader. He enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. Frankie was a fan of John Wayne and Alabama football. He coached basketball, soccer, t-ball, softball, and baseball in the various cities he lived in. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Nobles. He is survived by his wife Patricia E. Myers, children, Michael (Maggi) Myers, Augusta, GA; Tim (Debra) Myers, Grovetown; Kathy (Randy) Barrett. Martinez; Christopher (Robin) Myers; David (Jan) Wilson, Murray, KY; sister, Martha Syreen, brothers, Randy Myers, Dudley Myers, Billy Myers, grandchildren, Grace Myers, Joel Myers, Chase Myers, Faith Myers, Ebon Duerr, Nicholas Duerr, Jacob Barrett, Christopher Myers, Nicole Wilson, Austin Wilson, and Alex Wilson. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 10am until the hour of service. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Evans, PO Box 159, Evans, GA, 30809.
