Frankie Nelson

Frankie Nelson, née Usry, of Augusta, GA, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, entered into rest on March 8, 2025. Born in a log cabin on Indian Creek in Glascock County, Frankie grew up in Thomson, GA. She married Billy Thomas “B.T.” Nelson on August 3, 1952. They raised their family of three children in South Augusta, where Frankie cared for their special needs daughter Debbie throughout her life. Frankie was quick to laugh, a lover of music, and particular about the care of her roses. She enjoyed playing the slot machines in Biloxi, MS and Cherokee, NC and was a gifted cook.

Frankie is predeceased by her husband B.T. Nelson, daughter Debbie Nelson, parents Cleon and Bessie Usry, siblings Thad Usry, Lee Roy Usry, and Nora Griffin. She is survived by her daughter Connie Angaran of Reno, NV; son Jimmy Nelson (Nancy) of Martinez, GA; grandchildren Ashley Swan of Bend, OR, Holly Hendricks (Luke) of Reno, NV, Katie Murray (Jay) of Evans, GA, John Nelson (Stephanie) of Atlanta, GA; and great-grandchildren Connor & Sophie Swan, River & Ryder Hendricks, Jack, Avery, Grant, & Molly Murray, and Eleanor Nelson.
