Mr. Carter was born to the late Grover William and Lillian Adele Carter in Augusta, GA. He was a 1960 graduate of Academy of Richmond County. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, listening to classical music and was also particular about his vehicles. If anyone tried to assist in cleaning his vehicles he was particular, so he kindly declined.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Anna Ruth Carter; son, Michael Carter; brother, Richard Carter (Glenda); and his four-legged grand dog, Bear.
At the request of Mr. Carter, there will not be a memorial service. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm,October 4, 2025 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Columbia Road. The family will have a private interment at a later date at Westover Memorial Park.
