Jim was born on October 6, 1959 in Palm Springs, California to the late Master/Sgt James Madison McCombs, Jr. and Mary Maxine McCombs. He graduated from Herzing University in Birmingham, Alabama with a degree in electronics. He worked as a Machine Tech for Serta Mattresses for 15 years. He served in the U.S. Army. He loved to fish, golf and he loved computers and any type of electronics.
He is survived by his sister, Sandra (Sandy) McCombs-Smith; Children, Jill A. McCombs, James A. McCombs, and John S. McCombs; grandchildren, Starla A. McCombs, Anthony J. Quaglietta, Helen M. Vassney, Aidan McCombs, Joanna McCombs, and Matthew Rodriguez; and a great-grandchild, Kimora J. Palmer.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Master/Sgt James Madison McCombs, Jr. and Mary Maxine McCombs.
