

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Tony and Marie Bertolone.
Joe was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
He served three years active duty as a Radiologic Technologist at Eisenhower Army Hospital at Ft. Gordon, three years with the VA Hospital and 25 years civil service as an Ultrasound Tech at Ft. Gordon, GA.
Joe was a youth soccer coach for the YMCA and Columbia County Soccer programs. Youth bowling coach at Brunswick Lanes on Saturday mornings for many years. Joe was a member of the Georgia Street Rod Association, Goodguys Rod and Custom Association, Augusta Coin Club, Woodmen of the World Trustee Camp 1571, Martinez, GA, and Treasurer for Dixie Wheels Car Club. Joe’s passion was attending national classic auto shows, major speedways and drag races. He enjoyed hobbies of photography, teaching youth tennis and table tennis. Joe enjoyed volunteering with the Adoptive Water Skiing Association of Augusta, and participating with his personal “friends” of the Augusta Wheelchair Tennis League.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Riley Bertolone; son Perry Bertolone and his wife, Theresa; Grandson, Kyle M. Bertolone; brothers, Anthony Bertolone and his wife Darla of Cincinnati, OH and Michael Bertolone of Cleveland, OH.
His wish is to have no memorial or viewing services. Instead, he requests that you think back about the quality experience you shared and humorous times with Joe.
