Michael Stanley Brodhecker

Monday May 25th, 2026, Michael Stanley Brodhecker (71) entered into his final rest in his home. He was born in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky on March 19, 1955. Son of the late John Stanley and Neda Nerush Brodhecker. Graduated from Evans High School Class of 1973, and Georgia Southern College class of 1978, member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was retired from 37 years of service at the Columbia County Recreation Department where he served in various positions, served on the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) board of directors, State Director for Georgia for Dixie Youth and Boys baseball divisions. After retirement, he became known as the CSRA’s oldest Delivery Boy for Johannsen’s Sporting Goods in downtown Augusta. He enjoyed watching Atlanta Braves baseball and Georgia Bulldogs football, spending time working outside and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Lisa, children Ashley (R.C.) Smith, Joshua (Jessica) Brodhecker, and Jake Brodhecker; grandchildren Porter and Charley Smith; and Reagan, Henry, Colton, and Andrew Brodhecker.

Visitation to be held at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road in Martinez on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 5-7pm. Funeral service to be held at Grace Baptist Church, 4945 Hardy McManus Road in Evans, GA on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 2pm with a short graveside service to follow at First Baptist Church of Evans Cemetery 459 Rachel Drive Evans, GA.
