Peggy Nicholson Davis

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11am at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Archie Moore officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Palmer, Eugene Gojda, Bryan McReynolds, Randy Waters, David Sanders, and Clark Bourne.

Peggy was born July 13, 1933 to the late Harvey Lee Nicholson and Teresa Beatrice Rainey Nicholson. A stalwart in the south Augusta bowling scene, Peggy won the 1978 Women’s 225 championship and repeated the feat in the 1997 Senior Women’s 225. She also won gold in the 1999 Georgia Games. Peggy served for 2 decades as the secretary for Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Peggy is survived by her children, Drew (Susan) Davis, Martinez, GA, Cheryl Jones, Augusta, GA, Blane Davis, Mesa, AZ; sisters, Jean Davis, Columbus, GA, Patricia Fowler, Fayetteville, NC; sisters in law, Hilda Deloney, Ozark, AL, Mary Williams, Eufaula, AL, Betty Davis, Skipperville, AL; grandchildren, Jamie Jones, Cory Davis, Amanda Davis, Noah (Heather) Vaught, Michael (Aubrey) Vaught, and great grandchild, Caroline Vaught.
