Thelma Griffin Delk

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 11am at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Hankal officiating. Mrs. Delk will lie in state from 10:00am until the hour of service. Interment will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Gene Knox, Larry Cheek, Evan Slagle, Will Slagle, Michael Rossmoine, and Kenny Phillips.

Born in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of the late Sam L. Griffin and Nellie McGee Griffin. She retired in 1994 from Doctor’s Hospital where she worked as a Diet Clerk sixteen years. Thelma loved to cook and sew.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Lynette Morgan, and Mary Elizabeth Brant. Mrs. Delk is survived by her daughters, Karen D. Monroe, Columbus, OH; Sandra M. Delk, Martinez; sister, Louise (Jody) Tallent, grandsons, Kyle B. Monroe, Joseph D. Monroe, a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 18, 2012 from 5-7 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Rd, Martinez.
