Wendell Daniel Hensley

Mr. Wendell D. “Peanut” Hensley, 64, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013. He was a dedicated family man who cherished spending time with his family. Wendell had a tremendous love for music, dancing and the mountains.

Following Wendell’s service in the United States Navy, he went to work for CSX as an Engineer and retired with 38 years of dedicated service.

Mr. Hensley is survived by the love of his life, Susan Walker Hensley; two daughters, Shawn Hensley Meyers and Jodi Danielle Hensley; three precious granddaughters, Alexandria Chappell Meyers, Caroline Ava Meyers and Carrington Elle Meyers; and sister, Cynthia (James) Hensley Rachels.

Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Pastor Eddie Bradford. Pallbearers will be James Rachels, Keith Rachels, Travis Rachels, Rick Walker, Dennis Walker, Oliver Brown, Benny Long, Calvin Hall, Wayne Jenkins, Ron Troglione, Gary Capps and A. J. Moniz. Honorary pallbearers will be his Hendersonville, North Carolina dancing buddies.
