Asako "Alice" Marie Griffith

Born January 2, 1931 in Fukuoka, Japan; she was the daughter of the late Hanji and Some Matsumizu.

Alice was a member of Mt. Wesley United Methodist Church, a lifetime PTA member, and a 4H leader. She retired after 25 years of service as a cook from Bedington Elementary School.

In addition to her parents Alice is preceded in death by her husband Donald Griffith; sister, Yumiko Kajiyama; brother, Sanji Matsumizu, grandson, Jeremy Tabler; and one son-in-law, James Tabler Sr.

Alice is survived by her five children, Debra Tabler, Karen Griffith, Patricia Barrett and her husband Richard Sr., Wayne Griffith and his wife Kimberly, Lisa Wright and her husband James Jr.; sister, Ruriko Yoshitake; brothers, Yoshinori and Mitsugu Matsumizu; sister-in-law, Louise Brady and brother-in-law, Robert Brady; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one uncle and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be JR Barrett, Donald Barrett, Matthew Barrett, JT Tabler, John Tabler, JW Wright, Ben Wright, and David Grove; with honorary pallbearers, Brandi Griffith and Sarah McKinney.

Visitation will be Monday, November 4, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 11am on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Rosedale Funeral Home with Dr. G. Ed Grove officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
