Bobby L. Humphreys

Bobby was a man of faith, a dedicated family man and friend. He loved animals, working in his shop and his John Deer tractor “Johnny”.

Bobby was a United States Army veteran. He spent his time in the service in aviation as an aircraft mechanic mainly working on UH-1 Huey helicopters. Bobby also served as chief of police in Cowen, WV and drove tractor trailer for over 20 years, winning many driver safety awards. He retired from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in 1999. Bobby, along with his wife Joanne, started their own trucking company Humphreys Transport in 1988.

Born January 21, 1942, to Robert and Retha Humphreys in Webster County, WV.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Joanne Humphreys, his 3 daughters, Kristy St. Pere of Poquoson, VA, Bobbie Jo Shirley and husband Tim of Martinsburg, WV and Michele Barnhart and husband Randy of Martinsburg, WV, and very close family friend whom he considered a son, Lucas Sanson of Summersville, WV, 4 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 6pm -8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
