He continued his education at Shepherd University, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. After completing Shepherd, He attended Mountain State University and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Brian was employed by City Hospital started as a part time employee in housekeeping in 1999 became a full time employee after finishing High School to present became RN, Nursing Supervisor, Cardiac Care Technician and recently Coordinator of the Operating Room. Brian had a gift of caring for people and he loved his hospital family.
Brian accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early stage in his life. He was a member of Trinity Temple Church of God, under the leadership of Bishop Raymond Johnson for many years before moving his membership to Kingdom Life Cathedral, under the leadership of Bishop Sterling Porter. At Kingdom Life Cathedral, he served as a Deacon, member of the Culinary committee and had organized health and wellness events and was always available wherever and whenever needed.
“BJ” loved his family and friends. He had many, many friends, but his best friends were his Mom and Dad. If you had “BJ” for a friend you had a true friend. If you needed encouragement, he encouraged; If you needed a laugh, he would say something funny; if life had you down, he would pick you up. And he always had a smile and a hug for everyone. Brian was always on an accelerated path in life.
We celebrate his life and grieve in these moments, trusting that the love and joy of the Lord will renew our faith and provide us strength in our time of need. We thank God for “BJ” and for the Love and Joy that will remain in our hearts and minds. For many, his life with us may seem to short, but for those who were touched by his spirit, we know his quality of existence out weights any quality of time.
