Craig Comer

Born on February 5, 1956 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Carl and Frances Comer.

Craig is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Joy, whom he loved beyond measure. He was the proud father of son, Aaron Comer and wife Kari, and son Matthew Comer and wife Sarah, and the adoring grandfather of Bradley Comer. He was the beloved baby brother of Michael Comer (wife Elizabeth) of Columbia, SC and Ellen Beeghly (husband Greg) of Tunnelton, WV. He will also be deeply missed by Bella, his Cojack terrier and constant companion.

Craig, also known as “Birddog” to his friends, was known for his (often irreverent) sense of humor, adding laughter to the lives of many, loved ones and strangers alike. He was a man of many talents and master of none. He loved music (his favorite being the blues and whatever notes he happened to be strumming on a cigar-box guitar) and coffee (his fondness for which he left many reminders on the living room carpet). Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the wonderful care provided by the WVU Cancer and Infusion Center and Dr. Sam Wanko.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
