Dewayne Mills

Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Geneva (Orr) Mills, wife Lori Jean Miller, son Tyler Mills, and siblings Debra Mills, Steven Mills, and Jack (infant).

Dewayne was a proud retiree of CSX Railroad, where he faithfully dedicated 41 years of service. Dewayne truly cherished the life-long friendships he made while working there, and enjoyed telling the tales of his life as a railroader.

Dewayne loved good food, good friends, fast cars, visiting the beach (especially Emerald Isle, NC, where he spent much of his childhood), and enjoying time with family and friends. Always willing to lend a hand, lend an ear, lend support… Dewayne’s compassion for others was evident in everything he did in life.

Dewayne is survived by his daughter, Melissa Spiker (grandchildren Alexas, Brittney, and Matthew Jr.) and son, Brandon Mills, brothers, Lynn and Scot Mills, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Dewayne will be missed by those he touched. The pain is over. He is whole. He is at rest.

No services are planned at this time. A memorial celebration of a life well-lived will be announced at a later date.
