Dora Washington

away peacefully in the care of Hospice at the Willow Tree

Healthcare Center in Charles Town, WV on February 26, 2022.

She was born on August 9, 1926 in Martinsburg, West Virginia

and was the daughter of the late Harry Washington and

Marstella Stubbs Washington.

Dora was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church

and in her earlier years she counseled many of the youth and

was an usher. She also loved to sing, read her bible and

travel. During Christmas holiday, Dora

often baked Christmas cookies for family, friends

and church members.

While spending time at the Senior Center, she enjoyed

having her nails done and participating in Bible study.

She loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren

and great great grandchildren dearly and enjoyed

spending quality time with them.

She is survived by her sons: Reginald Washington

of Columbus, OH and Charles (Deborah) Washington

of Lakeland, Florida; daughters, Doreen Stevenson of

Shepherdstown, WV, Joyce Washington of Harrisburg,

Pennsylvania; 9 grandchilden, 26 great grandchildren

and 7 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces,

nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by

her son Harry V. Rose, sisters, Genevieve Monroe,

Charlotte Tucker, Josephine Pollard, Priscilla Holmes,

Mary Brown,and Charity Cooke; brothers: Robert Washington

and Harry Washington Jr.

Visitation will be held at her church, Asbury United Methodist

Church in Shepherdstown, WV on March 12, 2022 from

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m with Funeral services starting at 1:00 p.m.

Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made

to The Alzheimer's Association.
