Dorothy Quinn

Born November 10, 1935 in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ola Gregory Sr. and Berta (Carper) Gregory.

Dorothy worked seasonal at Musselman Fruit for several years until completing her nursing training at Kings Daughters Hospital. After graduation she continued to work at the hospital until it closed at which time she started her true love, nursing homes. She started at Avalon Manor in Hagerstown then Norborne Nursing Home in Martinsburg and finally finishing her career at the Canterbury in Shepherdstown, WV. All together accumulating more than 30 years as a nurse. After her nursing career Dorothy helped in the family business “Rock Cliff Subs and Pizza” where her smiling face was there to greet everyone who came in. She truly loved being there to meet and talk to everyone that visited.

Dorothy was a member of St.Lukes United Methodist Church for over 70 years, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. The church was a large part of her life that she shared with her mother. They sat together in the same spot in the same pew for many years.

She is survived by her 5 children, Robert Z Quinn Jr., Cindy L. Jones, Jay C. Quinn and wife Rita, Mike S. Quinn and wife Deana, and Mark A. Quinn and wife Janet. 8 grandchildren, Robert Z. Quinn III, Michael Quinn, J.C. Quinn, Samantha Quinn, Molly Quinn, Markita Jones, Danielle Quinn, and Oliver Harper. 3 great-grandchildren, Reagan Quinn, Connor Quinn, and Austin Graham. She is also survived by 1 brother, Ola Gregory Jr., two brother in-laws Gibby Quinn, Peachy Quinn and wife Judy.

In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert Z. Quinn Sr.

Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on January 4, 2016 at Rosedale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on January 5, 2016. Interment will follow, Pastor John Yost will conduct the service.
