Born January 22, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Margaret Brettschneider.
Elizabeth was a faithful wife and mother. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts and President of the Little League Ladies Society in New Jersey and was always in attendance at her children’s ballgames.
She was a loyal member of Independent Bible Church.
She is survived by two sons: Richard L. Byers and wife, Judy, and Wayne F. Byers and wife, Marguerite; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Byers; and her brother, Fred J. Brettschneider Jr.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 11am until the time of the funeral service at noon at Rosedale Funeral Home. Private interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
Elizabeth had requested there not be any flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to Independent Bible Church, Martinsburg Rescue Mission, Berkeley Humane Society, and Hospice of the Panhandle.
