James Ashcom

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of James Daniel “Danny” Ashcom, who left us unexpectedly on March 21,2025 at the age of 60. He was a devoted family man and friend whose spirit will forever live on in those who knew and loved him.

Born on August 9, 1965, Danny was a hardworking, big-hearted man who was a friend to everyone. He was always willing to help anyone in need because he had such a giving soul. He spent his life as a welder, a job he loved doing, but he dabbled in just about everything. He was always proud of all the years he put in at SA Halac, especially being able to work with his brother John and all the friends he made along the way. He cherished every moment spent with the ones he loved the most, always putting family first.

Danny is survived by his soulmate, Nora (Tickle), stepdaughters Shauna Tickle, Terry Tickle, Margaret Tickle, Kristina Tickle, stepsons: Harvey & wife Stacey Dickerson, and William Tickle, son-in-law Christopher Whitman. Also survived by his own brothers and sisters - John (Dana) Ashcom, Rhonda Ashcom, Holly Ashcom, and Chad Ashcom; Step brothers and sisters - Roxanne, Raymond, Tammy, Donna, Robert, and Jeff. He was “Pop-Pop” to many grandchildren, great grandchildren, who he loved spending time with as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Ashcom, mother Viola Moon and Stepfather,Howard Moon.

A celebration of life will be held by the family on April 5, 2025 at 2PM at the home - 259 Charity Circle, Falling Waters, WV 25419. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make memorial donations to assist with offsetting the family’s unexpected expenses.
