John W. Wineberg, 84, of Martinsburg, WV, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the home of his daughter.
Born December 9, 1926 in Big Run, PA, he was the son of the late John Walter Wineberg, Sr. and Zelda Marie (Hazlett) Wineberg Amundson.
He was a US Navy Veteran serving during World War II.
He was a member of the 180 Church of Christ. He retired from the Federal Highway Administration after many years of service.
He will be sadly missed by two daughters, Debbie Catlett and Pam Cooper, both of Martinsburg, a son, Howard Kuntz of Independence, MO, and a brother Robert Wineberg of Gap, PA.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 6-8 PM and on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 9 AM until the time of service at 10 AM at Rosedale Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Thomas Huff will officiate. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25404.
