

Kathleen Larue Harmison Hinkle passed away on July 21, 2025, at the age of 80, peacefully at her home in Winchester, Virginia. Kathleen was born on June 10, 1945, to the late Harlan and Lillian (Dodson) Harmison, in Berkeley County, West Virginia.
Kathleen lived on a farm with her brothers and sisters until they moved to Martinsburg, West Virginia, where she grew up. There she met David Hinkle and later married him on June 15, 1962. They moved to Winchester, Virginia, where they lived the rest of their lives. They were married for 45 years and had two children. Kathleen worked her whole adult life until she retired from Federal Mogul Automotive.
Kathleen was known for her giving heart, sense of humor, love for animals, and her endless love for family and friends. She was always willing to help others any way she could. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo, slot machines, cards, watching westerns and game shows. She did word searches and crossword puzzles every day. She was very proud of the day she earned her G.E.D. She Had an amazing work ethic. She made a lasting impact on her family, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. She didn’t know a stranger. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Kathleen is survived by her son, David Hinkle Jr.; her daughter, Shari (Chad) Dorsey; one granddaughter, Caitlin Dorsey; her grandsons: David Cunningham and Andrew Dorsey; her great-grandsons: Kasen and Maverick Dorsey; and one sister, Barbara Harmison.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, David Hinkle Sr.; six brothers: Leroy, Wilson, Harlan, John, Wendell, and Phillip Harmison; three sisters: Mary Ella Virginia Harmison Hess, Edith Harmison Wright, and Annie May Harmison Imbach; and several other family members.
A visitation will be held for Kathleen on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home, in Martinsburg, West Virginia. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 11am at Rosedale Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Rosedale Cemetery following the service.
