Marguerite Elizabeth Carroll

Born on November 2, 1943, in Berkeley County, she was the daughter of the late Sandy Mills and Rosie Stephens Mills.

Marguerite babysat at her home for over 50 years. She loved the Lord and was a member of Martinsburg Church of Christ. She enjoyed going to karaoke, mostly to watch but every now and then she would get up and sing a song herself. Marguerite had a passion for baking and making homemade candy.

Most of all, Marguerite loved her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She took pride in each one of those titles and showed it well with her love.

She is survived by her second husband, Crist Gettel; two sons: Ronnie Carroll Sr. and wife, Regina and Timmy Carrol and wife, Karen; three stepsons: Bev Carroll and wife, Chris, Bruce Carroll and wife, Clara, and Terry Carroll and wife, Karin; three grandchildren: Ashley Grams and husband, Clint, Travis Carroll and wife, Amy, and Ty Carroll and wife, Payton; nine step-grandchildren: Stevie (Tabi), Rusty (Krishna), Christin, Courtney (Dustin), Jennifer (Tim), Jeffrey (Leidy), Craig (Justine), Megan (Nick), and Candace (Ceri); two great-grandchildren, Grace and Luke Grams; and special cousin, Patti Gifft.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her first husband, Lewis "Buzzy" Carroll; grandson, Ronnie Carroll Jr.; and six siblings: Evelyn Laidlow, Thomas Mills, Charlotte Miller, Walter Mills, Ronnie Stephens, and Mary Mills.

Family and friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 6-8pm and on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
