Vickie Darlene Ford

Vickie Darlene Green Ford, 72 of Shepherdstown passed away peacefully at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center hospice unit “Serenity House” on May 14, 2026. She was born February 6, 1954, to Dorothy (William) Grantham and the late Clifton Green.

Vickie attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Shepherdstown. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She used her talents to work in many different fields. She worked at the VA Center as a cook and in the housekeeping department for many years. In retirement she passed on her love, compassion, and guidance in caring for children.

Vickie is survived by her son Allen Ford III (Lisa), her grandson Desmond Ford (Destinee), her sisters: Wanda Smith, Alisha Johnson, Shirley Bell, Karen Green, Barbara Green, Jacqueline Grantham, Judy Grantham. Her brothers: William Grantham Jr. (Cindy), Clifton Green, her extended families, The Williams, Parkers, Washington, and Ford families.

Vickie was preceded in death by her parents and a host of aunts and uncles.

Vickie loved baking her famous dinner rolls, cakes, had an amazing green thumb, and making people laugh.

Her legacy will live on in our hearts and memories.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, WV, on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 10:00 am until funeral services at 11:00am.

Vickie will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Memorial Gardens.
