Iris George Vires

Iris George Vires, 65, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. She was born in Henry County on January 7, 1947 to Euratus D. (Slim) George and Margaret Priddy George, both deceased. Prior to her illness she had been employed by S & W Manufacturing as a seamstress. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Martinsville. She is survived by her husband, Daniel L. Vires; two daughters, Glenda G. Barnes of Salisbury, NC and Kathy G. Lester of Martinsville; four sisters, Jacqueline G. Roach of Ridgeway, Shirley G. Compton of Martinsville, Phyllis George of Ridgeway and Audrey George of Martinsville; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild and three nieces. The funeral service will be held Friday, January 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville with Pastor Alvin Nunley officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
