

She was born November 28, 1915 at the family farm at Kellogg Marsh (Marysville) WA to Carl and Inez (Sather) Anderson. She attended Kellogg Marsh Elementary School and graduated from Marysville High School, Class of 1934. She married Roy E. Hovik, her high school sweetheart on February 14, 1935.
Charlotte and Roy made their first home at Shoultes, moved to a small farm in Lakewood. In 1950 they moved to 3rd Street in downtown Marysville. Charlotte was a Bluebird and Campfire Girl leader, PTA member, did home interior decorating, worked at William’s 5 & 10 Cent Store and started a career in banking at Marysville State Bank in 1954. She continued to work at the bank which became 1st National Bak of Everett, then Seattle 1st National Bank, which is now Bank of America. She retired in 1974. In 1975 they retired to their home at Spee-bi-dah, Tulalip and spent several years at Birch Bay in Blaine.
Charlotte was a life time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Marysville Garden Club, Marysville Lady Lions Club, Marysville Historical Club and Eugene Boyd Orthopedic Club. Charlotte and Roy square danced with the Knotty Squares and the Western Squares for 20 years.
The joy of her life was her six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Inez Sather, husband of 67 years Roy; siblings, Irene Lallemand, Ruth Kunkel, and Emory Anderson. She is survived by daughters, Carol Ruth Nelson, Phyllis and husband Paul McCoy; grandchildren Brett and Lois, Keith and Alyson, Duane and Tonia Nelson, Andrea Hougan, Douglas and Monica, Tyler and Jennifer McCoy; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Spencer, Walker, Heather, Drew and Haily Nelson, Chelsea, Hans and Evan Hougan, Langlie, Ahnna, Josef, Kendall and Brady McCoy.
A private family entombment will be held at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park.
A Celebration of her life will be held at “McCoy’s on the Bluff” Spee-bi-dah at a date to be determined later.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Providence Hospice & home Care of Snohomish County, 2731 Wetmore Ave Ste 500, Everett, WA 98201, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7215 51st Ave NE, Marysville, WA 98270 or to the Marysville Fire Dept.
