Clay attended and graduated from Mountlake Terrace High School.
He was married to Velda Welborn on July 28, 1995.
Clay was a sheet metal manufacturer with Reliance Manufacturing since he was about 19 years old - I guess you can say he became a fixture there.
Clay loved woodworking, his talent is evident in what he made for family members. He had a passion and appreciation for classic cars, Chevrolets specifically and loved being part of the restoration process.
He had a particular fondness for family potlucks and his favorite holiday was Easter when he would get to hide easter eggs for all the grandchildren to find, it made his heart so warm.
Clay had a very focused and precise work ethic. He was a great trainer and mentor over his years at Reliance and wanted to help and show family members how to fix things. He could literally create or build almost anything.
He use to say "draw me a picture, give me measurements and I'll make it".
Clay is survived by his wife of 28 years (together over 30 years), Velda Welborn; step-daughters, Janae (Daniel) Winningham and Stacey (Israel) Bazan Jr.; stepson, Andrew (Nicole) Vodegel. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Morgan, ethan, Samuel, Asher, Kylie, Kayla, Andy Jr., Alexis, Ke'ana, Makiya, Selena and Isa.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
