Oscar met his wife Tina in 1976 and they officially wed in 1981 they had two beautiful children together Bridget and Casey. Oscar began his career in the lumber industry as a late teen. It was a family affair, and allowed him to work beside his brothers and father. While the company name changed several times his commitment did not. His coworkers were his "kids" and he loved them as that. He officially retired in January 2021.
Oscar spent his free time loving his grandchildren. There is not a thing "Papa" wouldn't do for them. Papa spent many years sponsoring his grandson's Little League team "Papa O Sweeney's. " Anything the kids were a part of you can bet he helped sponsor, from powwows to high school sports teams. He was a true family man. He made it a point to support his family and whatever they were doing. He enjoyed his Nephew's bands, especially if he could throw people around in the mosh pit. You could bet the party livened up as soon as Big O entered. There was not a person that has come into his path that he has not touched. He would make you smile , he would make you laugh, his presence stayed with you, he was the light. During his time at home his dog's Bronx and Lou never left his side. He loved his Seahawks Mariners, Sonics and Huskies.
Oscar's strength and love pulled him through a very difficult last 2 years. He was a man of many nicknames but regardless of how you knew him he was a true warrior.
