Ella entered into the Kingdom of Heaven May 6, 2020. She was born March 29, 1937 to McKinley and Lessie Battles in Gadsden, Alabama. Ella was the fifth of eight children and had the unique gift of growing many flowers, shrubs, and planting an abundance fruit, and vegetables. Her yard was kept in immaculate condition year after year and she was known as the lady with the green thumb. Gardening was no her only unique gift, the meals she prepared for the holidays was always a topic of discussion. Difficult to make the sound of food being joyfully eaten but it was yummy for the tummy. The meals will be missed but the memories will always remain.
Ella fought a long battle with many health issues until Leukemia took her life. She leaves behind her loving husband of 61 years, Dean Ledford; daughters, Rheba Williams of Medford, Oregon, Angela (Dave) Tait of Tulalip; grandchildren Jeana (Robb) Randle of Marysville, Matt (Brittany) Tait of Wenatchee, Violet (Scott) Guzman of Medford, Oregon, Shannon (Joe) of Marysville, Warren (KeNani) Williams of Granite Falls, and Juanito Bradford of Ellensburg. There is a special foster grandson, William Overton (age 14) of Granite Falls, and a number of great-grandchildren, Jack and Kaytlin Randle, Jacoby, Makinsey and Chesney Tait, Victoria, Ziah, Tailyah, Jayce and Lydia Guzman and Zackery Bartlett. She is survived by a sister Josie Mobbs and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ella was preceded in death by her mother, Lessie and father, McKinley; her sisters, Etter, Dorothy, Audrey and Mary; brothers, Edward (Buddy), Robert and Hoyt.
We love you sweetheart, mom, grandma, great-grandma and you will be dearly missed.
