

Born August 4, 1964, in Monterey, California, to John Robert Burke and Mary (Manley) Burke, John was known for his bold personality, honesty, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He lived a life rooted in family, community, and service.
John worked in many roles throughout his life, including as a carpenter, landscaper, poker dealer, and tribal fish cook. He proudly served in the United States Army as a Private First Class and Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, earning the Army Service Ribbon and Marksman Badge.
He had a passion for sports, especially pool, softball, and the Seattle Mariners, and was a devoted father and grandfather who showed up for his family in every way.
John shared 34 years of love and marriage with his wife, Carmen, whom he cherished deeply.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen; his children, DeShawn and Sharmane Joseph, Brittney, Talon, and Shlyee; numerous grandchildren; his grandmother, Benita Burke; siblings; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Burke; his grandfather; and other beloved family members.
John will be remembered for his strength, humor, and the love he gave so freely.
An evening service will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 6 PM at the Tulalip Gathering Hall. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 3, 2026 at 10 AM at the Gathering Hall with burial to follow at Mission Beach Cemetery.
