I remember Ken coming into the dispatch office while testing the emergency phones for the elevators, we would talk for hours about grandchildren, telling jokes and generally giving the dispatchers a bad time while we tried to do our jobs. Ken made the day better with his good nature. He will be missed.

Ken and I worked together from 1987 through 1990, spending many hours each week (close quarters) in a lift repairing conveyors in the 40-56 building.  One thing that sticks in my mind from those days working with Ken, was I never once heard or seen Kenny say anything bad about anyone or have other than positive thoughts.  Kenny was extremely proud of his family back then and was always talking about them. We parted ways in 1990 and went to different locations in the factory. Later I would see Ken on occasions, usually at Tool Room 814, and it did not matter who was waiting at the counter, Ken was going to talk about his growing tribe and inquire about my well being. Here was a man, who like few others I have known had so much pride in his family. If you seen Kenny, you were going to see his pride, and this was his family.  By knowing Kenny my life and many others are richer and he will be missed but never forgotten.

I'm very sorry to hear of Ken's passing.  I lived on Woodlawn about a blk from Ken until I was 12, and we went all through school together.  He was always nice and I'm sure he'll be missed.

I am so sad to hear of Ken's passing.  I share the same comfort you each have in knowing Ken is more alive now than ever in the presence of his Savior, but still this time of grieving the temporary separation that death brings is very, very difficult to bear.

I know you'll be flooded with all kinds of words in the days ahead – and perhaps you will not want to read mine until some time has passed – but I wanted to share with you some special memories I'm having of my good friend Ken.  God wove us together in some unforgettable ways.

I have a shelf in my office that is lined with all kinds of memorabilia: Picture of my daughter on her missions trip, my Dad's pocket knife, my grandfather's Bible, etc… . In the midst of it all there is a single photo of 7 men standing in front of a raging creek.  It is one of my most cherished photos – a captured moment from the very first EXPEDITION (the annual men's 3 day backpacking trip we started in 2002).  Crouched in the lower right is Ken – decked out in his wilderness attire with a canteen slung over his shoulder, smiling because he knows we were just a short bus ride from our destination, Stehiken.

I have so many memories of Ken and our hiking trips.  We began calling him the “trail guru” because he had all this “mystery wisdom” when it came to outdoor craft and knowledge.  Not that he himself always followed his advice.  A story that gets repeated every Expedition since was the time some years after “E1” when, on a hike to Lake Sally Ann, Ken pulls out a 5 pound bag of pancake mix that he packed in thinking we would all share it.  It was the same trip that we learned he was carrying a long-barreled, single-shot .44 magnum that I believe weighed 397 pounds (exaggeration intended).   An ultra-light backpacker he may not have been, but he was always wanting to be prepared with a contingency plan and was always looking out for the welfare of others.  

As I think about it, that's exactly what he did for you, his dearly loved family.  He left you the peace that only comes from knowing he had made the ultimate contingency plan – forever life with God through trusting in Christ Jesus.  

One year I decided to let Ken plan the Expedition trip.  It was a record-breaking adventure in many ways: Longest road trip to the trail head (I believe it took us over 8 hours to drive to Shi Shi beach on the Olympic Peninsula), Shortest trail (Less than a mile from the van to the beach), and biggest bon fires ever.  I love watching the video we made from that trip, and many of the photos still hang in the hallways of our church.  He taught me so much about many things in life.

These are just a few of the memories from pleasant times that have tempered my sorrow today.  In many, many more, the name “Ken” doesn't  stand alone – it was always “Ken and Calli”.  Your combined investment in ministry, in life, in my family, was always appreciated.  May the Lord continue to use you, Calli, to bless your wonderful and growing family, and all who are privileged to know you as a friend.

I've known Ken at Boeing four years.  His shop was ‘next door' to mine.  I enjoyed talking with him through the fence several times a week as he would pack his truck to go out and repair elevators.  I appreciated his deeply held family values which caused him to have great care & concern for each member.  Most of all I appreciate his dedication to Jesus Christ which undergirded his whole life.  I already miss him a lot.  My goal is to see him again in Heaven!

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Calli. In the early Mountain View days, you and Ken were always like another set of grandparents for me. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

1 Corinthians 13:13 - And now these three remain:  faith, hope & love.  But the greatest of these is love.  Ken was truly a loving man, with a living faith....and we are certain he is experiencing that hope.    We are so sorry for your loss Calli...our hearts go out to you and the family and know that you will continue to be in our prayers.

You were a special man with a special kindness that is rare to find. I am glad to have had the opportunity to know you.

I will never forget out ride on the Coast Guard boat when I first met my husband. Ever since then we have a good relationship and enjoyed sharing stories. I'm saddened to hear of this loss but will always have a positive memory of you from Everett.

For 10 years I would see Ken every Morning, He always had something to tell me. Rarely did he miss work and enjoyed his day's as an Elevator Mechanic at The Boeing Co. We will all miss Him.

Ken was my co-worker and friend. We talked of his g-babies and his church which was an integral part of his life.I know that Ken will be in heaven!

I got to know Ken many years ago working with him on 2nd shift. The thing that most stands out about Ken was his obvious love and devotion for his family.  Any conversation with him would most certainly include him mentioning his Grandkids. May you find comfort in your memories.  He is in God's arms now.

Ken was a Good Man who loved his Family. i will miss his stories of all his Grand children. He will be missed by all his co-workers. best wishes to his Family.

Ken , you are missed here at work by everyone. Your hard work and dedication to your job and to folks that needed help are going to be missed. We pray for your family's strength during this time and for ours too as a lot of us were your family here and spent years with you.
